Gateway is a Substrate blockchain, that runs as a multi-validator Proof of Authority network (PoA). Validators are authorized by COMP Governance on Ethereum, through the Compound governance system.

Validators observe transactions from Starports on each connected blockchain, and sign messages witnessing those events, which are recorded in Gateway blocks using probabilistic finality.
